Coparenting & Blended Family Counseling
For divorced individuals, maintaining their parenting while also protecting their child(ren) from conflict is extremely difficult yet of utmost importance. To help with this, CPC offers Coparent Counseling for those parents wishing to work towards more effective collaboration with their child(ren)’s other parent. For help with the transition to a blended family as parents remarry, we also have a Recognized Smart Stepfamily Therapy Provider trained specifically to help families blend successfully.
In high-conflict custody situations involving the courts, the best interest of the child(ren) is often a difficult focus to maintain. Even when parents’ attorneys are collaborative and the custody order is as specific as possible, often times there is no one effectively positioned in these high-conflict situations to ensure that parents collaborate effectively day-to-day so that their child(ren) has/have to pay minimally for their parents not being together. Parenting coordination* is a highly-effective and structured service that can help in such situations. By working with the judge, the parents’ attorneys, attorneys ad litem, and therapists, parent coordinators can ensure that the child(ren)’s well-being is maintained as the focus of coparenting.
